A high speed UV flatbed printer now with a roll-to-roll option for added versatility.
Screen’s high-speed Truepress Jet W3200UV HS flatbed printer keeps on getting better, as the company now adds a roll-to-roll option to this super-fast printer. The 150 square metres per hour machine attracted a great deal of interest when it was launched last year and since then sales have been brisk as companies have chosen it as the ideal printer to boost productivity.
A joint development between Screen and its subsidiary company Inca Digital, the Truepress Jet W3200UV printer is a six colour + white device designed to meet the demands of the POS, signage and décor markets today. The flatbed has the ability to print onto a wide range of media up to 3.2 metres wide and up to a maximum thickness of 50 mm. As a result, this printer can produce the widest range of both commodity and high-value products, such as everyday display graphics, hard/soft signage, wallcoverings, banners, lorry curtains, window film, quality POS, 5 and 7-layer multi-layers, backlit and day/night graphics and accurate 75 lpi lenticulars.
Responding to market demand, Screen has now developed a roll-to-roll option for the 3.2 metre wide printer that turns it into the industry’s most versatile hybrid machine. The new rugged roll-to-roll option takes rolls from 0.75 metres up to 3.2 metres wide and can print at the same productivities as the flatbed modes. Designed and built by Inca Digital, it can be supplied with a new printer or can be easily retro-fitted in the field. Very easy to use, the operator can switch from a fast flatbed into a fast roll-fed machine in the time it takes to walk around the machine! Once the table is locked the printer effectively converts into roll mode.

Using vibrant Truepress inks, including high-opacity white, light cyan and light magenta, the Truepress Jet W3200UV delivers high-definition, wide colour gamut print quality with excellent resistance to the bending and cutting of a variety of print substrates. To ensure maximum quality, reliability and production uptime, the printer features automatic cleaning and intelligent nozzle mapping.
The printer delivers superb quality with smooth tints, vivid colours and sharp 4pt text also at 150 square metres per hour productivity. It features an advanced multilayer option enabling up to eight layers to be merged together, with blocking layers being created automatically in the GUI. Coupled with the ability to print lenticular at high speeds and to print with a matt or a silk finish, the result is an all-round printer that is extremely flexible and a perfect production centre for any busy wide format business.
The Truepress Jet W3200UV is also available as a more economic 85 square metres per hour model which can be easily upgraded in the field to the higher speed model. All machines are supplied as standard with the Caldera GrandRIP+, including the EasyMEDIA option for ICC profiles. Integration to a range of other workflows is also available.
The roll-to-roll option will be unveiled for the first time worldwide at FESPA 2015 (18-22 May) in Cologne, in Hall 6 on stand U20, where it will be integrated with the Truepress Jet W3200 HS model.
