Print and mailroom equipment provider Tecnico Solutions brings a consultative and technical approach to finding the best possible equipment solution for its clients.
A famous playwright once penned ‘what’s in a name?’ Ask the owners at print and mailroom equipment provider Tecnico Solutions that question and their response will likely be: ‘Everything!’
When the Derbyshire-based company was first established in early 2006 by joint owners Richard Ogando and Andy Woods, it was done so on a shared vision of providing the best possible equipment solutions for their prospective clients.
Richard Ogando explained: ‘I know it sounds like a cliché, but we really meant it. Between the two of us we had over 50 years combined industry knowledge, and most of that time spent working at the coalface of print production. We both felt what many equipment providers were lacking was a truly consultative, solutions-based service. It was on the back of this that Tecnico Solutions was born.’
The company offers a variety of services to the print, mailing and packaging industries. These include new and used machinery, technical support services, consultancy services and machine brokerage services.
Having firmly established itself as a global provider of refurbished production mail equipment Tecnico has been working hard to further its standing in the digital sector following OEM distributor agreements with Xanté for colour production digital printers, Pitney Bowes for digital mailing and addressing equipment,Axode for camera reading systems, and ALE for production inkjet technology.
Mr Ogando added: ‘It is important to us as an independent equipment provider that we can offer our clients machinery and services that encompass and compliment their existing and future production needs.
‘When you consider the many variables involved in print, mail and packaging processes it is necessary to ensure that the investment being made is the correct one, and that is where we feel our consultative and technical approach adds value.’
Having a portfolio of equipment and services that bridges the gaps between digital print, direct marketing and packaging sectors is something that the team at Tecnico have been working hard to establish. One example of how they have used this unique approach to great affect is evident at Midlands-based digital print and mail provider FBI Direct.
FBI’s Saby Baines commented: ‘We neededto increase our mailing capacity and improve our profitability by including the option to print full colour, personalised marketing media together with full colour envelopes, variable data and mail matching verification.’
The solution was provided in the supply of a Xanté Impressia Multi-Media Digital Press with automated envelope feeder for the printing of envelopes and marketing media, together with a factory refurbished Buhrs enclosing machine complete with Axode camera system for mail enclosing, product matching and mail piece verification.
‘This one was quite easy really. It was pretty obvious to us after our initial consultation with the client to identify the areas that required investment,’ Mr Ogando declared.
‘We are currently working on a project that requires us to integrate a multi-gun hot melt glue system onto an existing Stahl folding machine. There is then the addition of a bespoke build plough fold system and integrated three-knife trimmer, along with vision systems for monitoring glue application and product verification. That’s a little more challenging, but right up our street.’
It is the ability to bring these elements to fruition that Tecnico says sets it apart from the competition. Combined with its underpinning technical knowledge and equipment portfolio and it makes the offering interesting to anyone who is thinking of adding to, or expanding their existing digital print, mail and packaging processes.
To conclude, he stated: ‘As our name suggests, we are not just an equipment supplier, we are first and foremost a solutions provider and we pride ourselves on doing exactly what it says on the tin!’
