Former European Tour golfer, Nick Dougherty, has been confirmed as the presenter for the forthcoming Digital Printer Awards.
Turning professional in 2002, Nick quickly became recognised as a huge talent of the golfing world, going on to become ’Rookie of the Year’ and finishing 36th in the Order of Merit in his first season on tour.
Gaining his first European Tour victory in 2005 at the Caltex Masters in Singapore, he went on to be listed in the top 100 of the Official World Golf Rankings in the same year, finishing in 15th place on the final European Tour Order of Merit. Nick went on to lead the 107th US Open (2007), playing with Tiger Woods in round three, before finishing tied 7th and secured a second European Tour victory in the very same year at the prestigious Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, moving into the top 50 in the world. Later in 2009, Nick went on to win his third European Tour event at the BMW International Open in Germany.
Nick announced his retirement from the sport in September 2016 with his final tournament taking place at the home of Golf in St Andrews at the ‘Alfred Dunhill Links’, the home of his most popular tour win.
Nick joined the Sky Sports broadcasting team in 2016 to work across their extensive coverage of Golf including The Masters, The Open Championship and Ryder Cup. His knowledge, warmth and engaging presentation style has led him to become lead Golf presenter across the network and a Sports Journalism Awards ‘Best Presenter’ nomination.
Nick has a focused passion for uncomplicating Golf and leaving the game in better shape than he found it. This drive and ambition led to the creation of the hugely successful ‘Tee Time Tips’ series which has seen over 35 million views across social media and Sky Sports commissioning the format (now it’s in sixth series) as a TV show in 2018.
