HP has launched its new Latex FS50 and FS60 series and has also made the Live Production features, announced at drupa 2024, available to customers. The latest printer series, along with Live Production, showcases HP’s commitment to enabling Print Service Providers (PSPs) with the right tools to expand and scale large format print applications.
The new HP Latex FS50 and FS60 series can work across a broad range of high-margin job applications of up to 30% wider gamut. These scalable printers are designed to grow with customer expectations, keep up with the latest technological advancements and tap into new business and revenue streams.
The HP Latex FS50 is a scalable platform ready to address growing business needs, ideal for large PSPs seeking efficiency in super wide format printing. Similarly, the HP Latex FS60 prints at speeds of up to 89 sqm/hour (958 sqft/hour), boosting productivity and cost effectiveness with its modular and scalable design. PSPs can further reduce costs over time by upgrading to 10L ink capacity and using user-replaceable printheads.
Offering a wide range of signage and décor applications, including thin films, vinyl, and odorless backlit textiles, both models ensure consistent colour and quality configurations. The scalable platform of the HP Latex FS50 and FS60 allows for easy integration of future enhancements while offering a longer lifespan and reduced environmental impact. With water-based odorless prints and no hazardous air pollutants, the HP Latex FS50 and FS60 series meet environmental certifications. The HP Latex FS50 is available worldwide, while the HP Latex FS60 is offered in selected regions.
Daniel Martinez, global head and general manager, HP Large Format, commented, ‘This announcement is a significant milestone in our innovation strategy, demonstrating our commitment and partnership to our customers. Introducing the new HP Latex FS50 and FS60 printer series, along with the anticipated availability of Live Production’s new features, is more than a product launch. These solutions are designed to empower mid-large volume print service providers to embrace the future with state-of-the-art hardware and software solutions, fostering continuous adaptability. By enabling their workflows and equipment to evolve hand in hand with their businesses, these cutting-edge solutions ensure that our customers remain competitive in the ever-changing market.’
HP’s Live Production software solution allows PSPs to remotely manage their printing workflow. The HP PrintOS Live Production solution allows users to control devices remotely and act on their printer queue in real time both from desktop and the new mobile app. This helps firms to scale and improve profitability, streamlining production, and achieving greater efficiency.
With customer emphasis on the importance of remote control in Live Production, especially in regions facing labour shortages, automation and remote management capabilities are crucial for addressing these challenges, as businesses seek to reduce manual intervention and streamline their workflows. Ast Signs, a UK branding specialist, offered that they ‘really appreciated the ability to move and structure the print queue remotely,’ as this was previously only possible by canceling and manually reorganising prints. Built on robust data and real time communication capabilities, the new features in Live Production will redefine print management and deliver a competitive advantage. The new functionalities for Live Production are now available, for users of HP Professional Print Service Plans.
