Manufacturer of industrial inkjet printing systems Kyocera Nixka Inkjet Systems (KNIS) has partnered with Imaging Solutions, provider of modular finishing systems, to integrate Kyocera’s Belharra water-based inkjet photo printer with Imaging Solutions’ FastCut finishing module. The companies said the partnership will provide photo printers with ‘enhanced’ value.

The synergy between KNIS’s inkjet technology and Imaging Solutions’ finishing systems will streamline the production process for photo printers, ensuring superior quality and efficiency, says KNIS. By combining the respective technologies, the two companies aim to answer photo printing industry expectations, in terms of flexibility and sustainability.

Kyocera Belharra, designed for high speed, high-quality inkjet printing, replaces traditional silver halide processes in photo production. This means chemical and water consumption is cut, reducing the total footprint, offering a modern, eco-friendly, and efficient alternative, explained KNIS. Paired with Imaging Solutions’ FastCut finishing module, which offers precision and modularity for trimming and finalising printed materials, the integrated solution is said to ensure seamless production workflows from print to final product.

Outlined by KNIS, the key benefits of this partnership are: increased efficiency and speed, with more optimised workflows through printing and finishing systems, reducing production times; enhanced value, with a more holistic approach to photo printing, enabling businesses to offer services to customers with minimal operational complexity; and flexibility, as modular systems that adapt to varying production needs, support both small-scale and large-scale operations.

‘This collaboration brings together the best of two worlds: Kyocera Nixka Inkjet Systems’ groundbreaking printing capabilities and Imaging Solution’s industry-leading finishing solutions and expertise in the photo market. Together, we are redefining the possibilities for photo printers,’ said CEO of Kyocera Nixka Inkjet Systems Paul Morgavi.

Anthony Pieters, CEO of Imaging Solutions, added, ‘Our collaboration with Kyocera Nixka Inkjet Systems represents a significant step forward for the photo printing industry. By combining the precision and sustainability of the Belharra printing press with the flexibility and efficiency of our FastCut finishing module, we’re providing photo printers with a seamless, high-performance solution. This partnership is a testament to our commitment to driving innovation and supporting businesses in achieving sustainable growth.’
