On what is the company’s 20-year anniversary, Konica Minolta has unveiled new presses that will be part of its AccurioPress range, the C14010S and C12010/S.

Achieving print speeds of up to 140 and 120 pages per minute respectively, the presses are, according to the manufacturer, designed to empower businesses with ‘stunning’ print quality, ‘exceptional’ speeds, and ‘unmatched’ versatility, enabling customers to unlock more possibilities in digital print. Both can support a range of media, from thin and thick paper (up to 450gsm) including envelopes, embossed paper, polyester, and cut-sheet labels, opening doors to diverse applications.

With five colour capabilities on the ‘S’ models, businesses can explore new creative avenues. New intelligent media sensors have been described by the company as a gamechanger in automated print management. The sensors identify paper type, weight and size instantly, ensuring high print settings every time without additional operator input. Additional white toner models further expand offerings, enabling businesses to tap into new revenue streams, Konica Minolta added.

Manufactured in Japan, this ‘high range’ production printer has been designed to improve efficiency for the operator. Features such as the intelligent quality optimiser unit IQ-601, including a new inline spectrophotometer for colour profiles, and intelligent media sensors (IM-104 and IM-105) ensure consistent, high-quality output with minimum user intervention, the company explained. The IM-105 measures the paper size of the substrate and detects variations in paper cutting size and, together with the IQ-601, automatically adjusts image positioning to eliminate front/back alignment errors ensuring quality and consistency with every print run. These tools help operators to work smarter, reduce manual adjustments for unattended, uninterrupted printing, and deliver flawless print results faster, stated Konica Minolta.

Alexander Späth of the Späth Group, a German printer and first to test the new C14010S, said the new press was highly productive compared to its previous C14000e AccurioPress. He outlined the auto inspection unit as key for avoiding downtime, as it removes any faulty sheets without stopping production. He added that there has been significant improvement to the RIP, and that the new white toner was quick and easy to use.

Karl Friedrich Edenhuizen, senior product manager, colour devices, professional printing, at Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe, concluded, ‘This launch signifies another major milestone for Konica Minolta and builds on 20 years of digital printing expertise and leadership. Backed by Konica Minolta’s intelligent technology and dedicated support, the AccurioPress C14010/S and C12010/S enhance our customers’ digital transformation journey.’

The company added that commercial shipments to Europe will start in mid- April or the beginning of May.
