BHS Corrugated, supplier to the packaging industry and manufacturer of inkjet print systems, has entered an agreement with Agfa to enhance its BHS Jetliner Series. Under the deal, Agfa will become the exclusive supplier of printing engines for the BHS Jetliner Xceed and BHS Jetliner Monochrome and become a certified ink supplier.

By leveraging Agfa’s expertise in inkjet technology, BHS Corrugated aims to improve print quality, reliability, and cost efficiency in its single-pass inkjet systems. The agreement strengthens BHS’s position in digital pre-print and inline print solutions for corrugators.

Agfa claims that its industrial inkjet technology is known for its high performance and cost-effectiveness, which makes it ideal for high-speed corrugated packaging production. The “first-of-its-kind” Jetliner Monochrome is currently being installed and ramped up, while the Jetliner Xceed is expected to be operational by the third quarter of this year.

The BHS Jetliner Series offers high-speed, automated digital printing with speeds up to 300m/min (1000ft/min) for the Xceed and 400m/min (1300ft/min) for the Monochrome. This technology reduces equipment needs, streamlines workflows, and offers flexible operational models, including roll-to-roll and inline RSR (roll to printed sheet in real time) processes.

This partnership underscores BHS Corrugated’s commitment to digital transformation, enabling customers to optimise production and explore new business models in packaging at the lowest possible cost, the company concluded.
