German printing press manufacturer, Koenig & Bauer, is pressing ahead with its restructuring efforts, reducing the size of its executive board as part of a broader strategic realignment.
The company has confirmed that Christoph Müller, a long-serving board member responsible for the digital and webfed part of the business, will step down from his role at the end of March. He will, however, remain with the company as an executive advisor. Christian Steinmaßl, who currently oversees parts of the special and new technologies division, will take over from Mr Müller.
This move is part of Koenig & Bauer’s plan to streamline operations and follows leadership changes in the paper and packaging sheetfed systems division which saw Markus Weiß take over from Ralf Sammeck.
The restructuring falls under the organisation’s ‘Spotlight’ programme led by CEO Dr Andreas Pleßke. Mr Steinmaßl has expressed enthusiasm for his new role, particularly regarding the expansion of the company’s flexographic web printing business and continued development of the company’s RotaJET industrial printing press.
