A new inline laminator for the Konica Minolta AccurioPress range allows users to produce laminated documents in a single operation. The GBC CL-401 is designed to streamline production by integrating lamination directly into the printing process.

With automatic detection of foil types and sizes, the CL-401 eliminates the need for separate lamination steps, reducing time and manual labour. When combined with the TU-510 inline trimming unit, it enables a fully automated workflow from printing to finishing.

The new laminator features a cold lamination process that does away with the need to warm-up, further speeding up production. It can apply lamination to both sides of a sheet simultaneously or just one side, making it suitable for applications such as decals and adhesive decorations.

Designed to handle paper weights from 75 to 300 gsm and accommodate a range of sizes from A4 to SRA3, the CL-401 expands the production capabilities of digital print providers, supporting applications such as posters, menus, flyers, and book covers, said the company.

Malcolm Smith, category manager for professional print at Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd, said: “The CL-401 is the first of its kind and only Konica Minolta can offer this combination of printing and laminating in one pass at just the touch of a button.”
