Blue Gecko, a print and signage provider in Bristol, has upgraded its finishing capabilities with the installation of a JWEI JCUT-1625 digital cutting table from CMYUK. The investment allows the company to improve efficiency and expand its use of sustainable materials.
The cutting table’s quality, speed, and range of features such as the automatic tool changer, were key factors in the decision to invest, says Stefan Canale, director at Blue Gecko. He added: “Being able to switch between different tools without interrupting the workflow has saved us so much time and effort.”
Alongside the tool changer, the system’s belt feed has enhanced productivity by enabling long-run jobs to be processed with minimal intervention. The OptiScout software supplied with the JWEI has also improved workflow efficiency.
Another feature of the JCUT-1625 is its tough V-Cut tool. This has enabled Blue Gecko to expand its work with sustainable materials, helping to develop eco-friendly pop-up displays, retail signage, and other products made from structural card and cardboard.
Mr Canale commented: “We’ve been pushing for more sustainable solutions, and the JWEI has opened up new possibilities for us. The ability to work with these materials without compromising on quality or finish has been a game-changer.”
