Commercial print company Banbury Litho has invested in a Zünd G3 3XL-3200 digital cutter as part of its strategic shift to become a full-service design, print, packaging, mail, and fulfilment provider.
Established in 1978, the company delivers high-quality print solutions, including full-colour litho, digital printing, and wide-format graphics. The acquisition of the Zünd cutter is a key component of Banbury Litho’s ongoing three-year diversification strategy.
Managing director of Banbury Litho Matthew Plant, explained: “Our goal has been to expand our services beyond traditional litho printing to offer even more value to our customers. By introducing in-house creative design, relief printing, CAD design services, and corrugated packaging, we can ensure maximum efficiency and quality control.”
Banbury Litho’s growth in wide-format and packaging services highlighted the need for a more efficient finishing solution. The company’s previous digital cutter struggled to keep up with increasing demand, driven by new investments in swissQprint and Heidelberg equipment. After evaluating several options, Banbury Litho chose the Zünd G3 for its precision, reliability, and versatility. Mr Plant added that the cutter’s intuitive software and user-friendly interface impressed the team, and its ability to make on-the-fly adjustments has significantly streamlined its workflow.
Since its installation in September 2024, the Zünd cutter has “transformed” the company’s production, operating 24/7 and integrating with its print systems. The cutter has boosted production capabilities by two-thirds, particularly in the creation of high-end packaging such as custom influencer boxes, stated Banbury Litho.
