With its new line of UV flatbed printers, the VersaOBJECT LO-640/300 series, Roland DG aims to boost productivity and enable high-precision printing on a range of substrates.
The new models offer up to three times the productivity of their predecessors, with the ability to print directly on media up to 242mm thick and weighing up to 100kg/sqm. Materials such as plastic, leather and wood can be customised with high-definition graphics, thanks to two precision print heads and efficient LED-UV curing.
The LO series supports EUV5 inks in CMYK plus orange, red, gloss, white and primer options. These provide strong colour reproduction and creative effects such as embossing and gloss or matte finishes. The primer option enhances adhesion on more difficult surfaces, supporting personalisation across both consumer and industrial products.
“This is truly an ideal device for customers who want high-quality print capabilities combined with impressive production volumes,” said Mark Elvidge, product manager EMEA at Roland DG. “The combination of two high-precision print heads and efficient LED-UV lamps allow for beautiful, high-definition printing, fine textures and gradations, even at high output speeds.”
Mr Elvidge added that growing demand for personalised products is driving interest in technology that can support shorter lead times and flexible production. “The LO series is a powerful solution to support customers who are looking to grow their print to substrate business by enabling shorter delivery times, reduced costs, and higher profitability.”
The printers ship with VersaWorks 7 RIP software, featuring a redesigned interface and improved processing power, with native support for both Windows and macOS. They also integrate with Roland DG Connect, a cloud-based platform for monitoring performance and profitability, and PrintAutoMate, which supports efficient high-mix, low-volume workflows.
