China Print Supplies (CPS) has announced the UK availability of the ThunderJet AQ1800UV – a high-resolution 1.8-metre roll-to-roll UV printer designed to meet the demands of today’s wide-format print market.

In under a year, the company said it has seen success with its popular SinoColor flatbed and hybrid printers. After seeing success with its SinoColor flatbed and hybrid printers, the company is expanding its portfolio with the addition of the ThunderJet AQ1800UV.

The ThunderJet AQ1800UV supports standard roll widths up to 1.8m and is built for high-speed, multi-layer printing across a variety of substrates. It features four Epson i3200 printheads, producing sharp, vibrant prints at 720 x 1200 dpi and speeds up to 58.5sqm/h. It also includes advanced features such as white ink, varnish options, and full white ink recirculation to protect the printheads during downtime.

“This printer looked to have something special about it,” said CPS director Scott Clutton, who discovered the ThunderJet AQ1800UV at the APPP Expo in Shanghai. “It delivers print quality and build quality well beyond what you’d expect for the price. It’s ideal for lightboxes and backlit displays – for its price, there’s nothing else in the market quite like it.”

According to the company, a standout feature is the printer’s water-cooled print plate, which helps manage LED heat, keeping media flat for consistent results – even during long production runs. CPS believes the printer is an ideal solution for businesses looking to upgrade from entry-level equipment without a significant financial leap.

“This machine is a fantastic addition to our range,” stated Mr Clutton. “It perfectly complements our existing SinoColor UV lineup and reinforces our mission to offer the best-value, high-performance solutions across all printing categories.”
