As part of ongoing investment in fast turnaround short run production solutions, Route One Print has purchased Renz wire binding technologies for calendars and books.
The Rotherham-based trade printer installed a Renz Punch 500 ES and a Renz MOBI 500 ring wire binding solution last Autumn to introduce a calendar production service during the busy season. This proved so successful a Renz AP360 high speed automatic punching system was added in February to meet demand and increase capacity for wire bound books.
Route One Print uses litho, digital and inkjet print technologies from Heidelberg B1 & B2 presses, Xerox iGens, HP Indigo and large format HP Scitex’s, plus Fuji & Screen Inkjet solutions. The most recent installations are part of an overall investment programme of more than £4 million.
Jim Swain, operations director, explained, ‘We chose this equipment because we wanted to add calendar production to our portfolio of solutions. In the new year, we looked at expanding capacity further and also finding a solution for finishing thicker booklets. We chose the Renz AP360 high speed automatic punch and expect there will be increased interest around our booklet ranges, especially personalised notebooks. The new equipment fits nicely into our portfolio.’
