The MegaEdit plug-in should speed template building and remove duplication of tasks in the design stage

Next week’s PrintWeekLive! event will see Infigo Software introduce a plug-in that simplifies artwork creation in its MegaEdit personalised print creation software and an update to its 3D preview capability.

The new plug-in for Adobe InDesign allows users to upload their designs directly from the Adobe software, with the variable fields and image placeholders necessary for personalisation created automatically in MegaEdit. This should speed template building and removing duplication of tasks in the design stage.

MegaEdit was originally developed as an easy-to-use personalised photobook and photo-gifting design tool but has evolved into a more sophisticated and complete software package.

Douglas Gibson, managing director at Infigo Software, commented, ‘The latest development of the Adobe InDesign plug-in is something we identified as a requirement for clients and so we’ve developed the solution to enhance their user experience. We’re excited to be able to introduce this to visitors at PrintWeekLive!’

The enhancement to the MegaEdit 3D preview tool builds on an early 2017 update in which support for previewing special finishes such as foiling, spot UV and embossing was added. This year the ability to show special finishes has been developed further and now extends to personalised and variable areas with multiple light angles, custom surface reflections, simulated embossing, varnish and engraving options.
