SO Live Connect software automatically identifies when a bin is full and generates a request for a collection lorry

As the first in the UK to install the innovative SO Live Connect waste management system from SO Recycle, specialist book manufacturer Ashford Colour Press is now running more cleanly and efficiently than ever.

Located in Gosport, the print manufacturing company has revamped its recycling processes and capabilities with a £100,000 investment in the waste management solution developed to better manage the collection and storage of waste materials.

SO Live Connect software automatically identifies when a bin is full and generates a request for a collection lorry. As a result, collections are only made when needed, lowering environmental impact with less trips being made, and reducing the downtime associated with bin changes. Jam detection sensors immediately alert the operator to an issue, ensuring a quick resolution, further reducing downtime.

Ashford bindery manager Simon Tiller said, ‘When SO Recycle approached us about the system, we were interested to see what improvements could be achieved. There was no downtime from the start, and even now when the bins are being changed over, or one has developed a fault, we can continue running. It has a massive impact on improving efficiency in our production.’
