The Indigo 12000 HD is a B2 format press that uses HP’s liquid toner technology

The HP Indigo 12000 HD press, launched last September, is now shipping after completing trials at German beta test sites. The company has also introduced a new digital label press and enhanced existing Indigo and PageWide models that address flexible and corrugated applications.

Using additional lasers to achieve a resolution of 1625dpi and image reproduction said by HP to “exceed offset” with the equivalent on 290lpi screening, the Indigo 12000 HD is a B2 format press that uses HP’s liquid toner technology.

Additional primary colour inks are available for the Indigo 12000 HD, including Vivid Pink and Vivid Green as well as fluorescent green, yellow, pink and orange. HP has introduced ColorUp! software to manage extended gamut printing, including the use of additional hits of the standard process colours.

In a raft of packaging and labels-related announcements, HP has also launched the Indigo 6900, a dedicated digital label press that supports silver ink, plus Invisible Yellow and Blue for security applications and PackReady production for food, household, chemicals and pharmaceutical use.

A laminator option for the Indigo 20000 flexible substrate press has been added and the Indigo 30000 folding carton model gains a performance boost. Users of the PageWide C500 corrugated packaging press gain Kiwiplan MIS/MES integration.
