The new laminating film is designed to reduce the risk of de-lamination
Manufacturer of advanced polymer materials, KDX, has improved the quality of its Silky Matt (BOPP) Laminating Film. This “soft touch” film is aimed at printers and print trade finishers with laminating equipment.
The new laminating film offers a stronger bond designed to significantly reduce the risk of de-lamination when compared with other similar lamination films. This improved performance has been achieved using a unique “blocking barrier” contained within the film to reduce the likelihood of the coating on the substrate migrating back into the EVA adhesive layer which can result in de-lamination. Market testing has seen improved results with positive customer feedback.
The new film is available in 35 micron Matt, exhibiting a soft tactile skin feel. The film is associated with excellent low static characteristics to further enhance production efficiency, ideal for adding spot UV, varnish and foil blocking.
Michel Diruy, general manager commented, ‘Some customers are using a digital film at increased pricing levels to get an improved adhesion bond on Litho/Offset prints – we want to challenge these customers to try our KDX Silky Matt which we believe will give the adhesion customers need without the expense of using a digital film, improving results in terms of finish, production and pricing.’
