End-to-end quality control for jobs sold via online storefronts is promised by the partnership
Tilia Labs and Aleyant have announced a technology partnership intended to bring “simplicity, efficiency, predictability and end-to-end quality control” to printers offering commercial and large format print services via online storefronts.
The first fruits of the partnership are integration between Tilia’s Phoenix imposition system and Aleyant’s Pressero and tFlow web-to-print and workflow offerings. Customers using these joint solutions will benefit from automated imposition for dynamic calculation of the most cost-effective production layouts across ‘virtually any’ printing, cutting and finishing equipment combination.
Tilia Phoenix uses AI itechniques to optimise nesting, die-cutting and guillotine operations. It links to Pressero via XML to receive and return jobs for output and cutting or to tFlow for file management, pre-flighting and approvals.
Sagen de Jonge, CEO of Tilia Labs, commented: ‘Web-to-print imposition is an area where we feel Tilia Phoenix can make a massive difference to print service providers. By its nature, web-to-print involves the greatest range of variables: thousands of individual files, each specified differently, submitted in every available format and via a variety of protocols. It calls for unprecedented speed, flexibility, and accuracy. The combination of Aleyant and Tilia will be hard to beat.’
