Cut out the waste: Griffin makes optimal use of substrates

Fujifilm has added the Tilia Griffin automatic layout software to its XMF suite of workflow products to optimise the use of wide-format media when producing repeating items.

By rotating and nesting non-rectangular items such as tickets, stickers and decals, the Tilia Griffin software both minimises substrate wastage and saves the time taken by trying to achieve the same result manually in design software such as Adobe Illustrator.

Sagen de Jonge, CEO of Tilia Labs explained: ‘Tilia Griffin’s workflow and design is so simple and intuitive even the most novice user can be up and running in no time. It features a modern, ultra-responsive interface, beautiful visuals, and an intuitive design and it’s designed to work well with virtually all printers and cutting tables. Any print shop creating layouts manually and struggling to meet deadlines or failing to maximise substrate usage will enjoy immediate benefits.’

John Davies, product group manager, workflow, Fujifilm Europe adds, ‘We’re delighted to be able to offer a tool to enhance our strong wide format proposition still further and we encourage all wide format printers to investigate the savings this system could deliver.’

Tilia Griffin also features barcode tracking, camera registration and support for installation or mounting features such as grommets. It will be available via Fujifilm either for license purchase or on rolling subscription.
