Production process with OneVision’s Wide Format Automation Suite

German prepress and workflow software publisher OneVision has launched its Wide Format Automation Suite for wide and super-wide format printers to offer time and cost efficiencies in the production process

The new Wide Format Automation Suite from OneVision Software allows workflows and assembly lines to be created digitally using drag and drop editor – with changes possible at any time, and individual production steps are automated as well.

The first stage of the process involves basic optimisation and colour input calibration – registration marks and barcodes can also take place at the start of the process. Transparencies are then flattened to speed up the print process and avoid colour errors. Finally, the normalisation module adapts all print data for consistency with the print environment, ready to print the PDFs.

In order to minimise waste, a Nesting Module can arrange print jobs from multiple customers in different shapes on a single sheet or roll. The combined artworks result in a ganged output that optimises the use of the substrate.

Cut Line Manager, Tiling & Panelling and Ink Saving are all integrated into the Suite, while a direct Onyx connection makes optimised print data available to control downstream Onyx-RIPs.

The new software was on show at Viscom in Düsseldorf, on the stand of OneVision’s alliance partner, Canon.
