A set of posters designed to be a fun and eye-catching way of engaging staff with health and safety regulations are available for BPIF members to download for free online.
The posters cover factory, warehouse and general office safety, and include areas such as slips and trips, COSHH guidelines, forklift truck and racking handling, electrocution risks and lifting techniques. Carrying the strapline “Stop. Think. Act. Your Safety Is Our Priority”, each poster has a space for members to add their own logo and can be printed to their specific size/number requirements.
‘It’s easy to think that educating people in health and safety procedures is a boring necessity, but whilst it’s a necessity it certainly doesn’t have to be boring!’ believes Mandy Robson, BPIF Head of Health, Safety & Environment. ‘The idea behind these posters, as well as encouraging a smile, is to change the mindset of staff by thinking differently, whilst passing key messages to them to take notice of vital regulations that they may have become over-familiar with.
The BPIF has also launched “Toolbox Talks”, giving companies tips on how to maintain a regular dialogue with teams about health and safety issues. Both new resources are available at www.britishprint.com/hsposters.
