Duplo’s new DM Mini Collation System
The Esper DM-230V Pro Collator and DM Mini Collation System have been added to Duplo’s range of direct mail equipment.
The Duplo Esper Direct Marketing Collator and DM Mini Collation System have been designed to gather together unaddressed leaflets, brochures, reply-paid postcards and other printed advertising materials in a wraparound cover ready for distribution. Running at up to 9,000 sets of collated documents per hour, the devices complement existing larger automated systems by handling a wider range of document formats and offering higher short run productivity.
‘These small footprinted solutions are the next step for businesses that are collating by hand,’ stated Neale Horstead, international business development manager at Duplo International. ‘Or for businesses who want to decentralise their production infrastructure to move closer to the point of delivery.’
The Esper DM-230V Pro’s “Just Timing” function ensures consistent pick-up of even the most awkward stocks while sensors detect an empty bin, paper jam or stack full. When a misfeed is detected, the incorrect set is automatically diverted into a reject tray, allowing the machine to run uninterrupted and increasing productivity. A paper separator slide on each bin enables a fast and simple changeover from thin to thicker documents.
The DM Mini Collation System incorporates a “Load-on-the-Run” facility and a “Cascade Function” that can be programmed to handle large volumes of a few inserts as well as thicker folded documents. A PC controller automatically sets up the Stacker Unit, which can be programmed to deliver batches from 5-50 sets in multiples of five, and has been designed to ensure that the Esper DM Collator continually feeds collated sets without any pause or gaps in production.
Preprinted stack labels can be fed from a selected bin, enabling additional non-Duplo banding units to be connected. There is also the option to improve performance and workflow by adding Duplo’s E-Tandem software packages.
Both systems use Duplo’s Job File Transfer software so job data can be automatically downloaded, stored and recalled from memory.
