EasyApps allows optimised job layout and costing to be calculated
Munich-based software developer PerfectPattern has introduced EasyApps, a mobile app that accesses web-based job ganging technology to optimise layouts for collections of print jobs, and is offering free introductory usage during October 2017.
The apps accesses web-based servers running the ganging technology that is used in PerectPattern’s sPrint One ganging solution and are claimed to give cost-optimised gang forms in seconds, once job data has been imported in CSV format.
Each calculation produces a JDF file that contains the necessary information to export to a prepress workflow system such as Heidelberg Prinect, Kodak Prinergy, Agfa Apogee or Fujifilm XMF among others, to drive the output devices. These files include the amount of material required and the size of the sheets, the sheet layouts and the total costs for materials and printing.
‘Many print houses are investing heavily in printing presses, but most of them do not carefully exploit the potential of their existing machinery,’ said Robert Meissner, one of PerfectPattern’s two managing directors. ‘With our EasyApps, they now can optimise the production of their print jobs. They maximise the capacity utilisation of their presses, minimise setup processes, and decisively lower material waste and production costs.’
EasyApps is suitable for any kind of print job ganging based on rectangular finished products and for all press types with the exception of some digital web-presses with inline finishing. More information and downloads at perfectpattern.de/en/easyapps
