John Charnock

Belfast-based printers Nicholson Bass was acquired by the Bradley group in June this year and has now appointed John Charnock as managing director.

One of the oldest printers in the North of Ireland and reputed for its fine art books, Nicholson Bass was bought by the Bradley Group, along with Quinns the printers and Mannin Group.

John Charnock was previously owner and director of Print Research International and prior to that was an executive board member of St Ives PLC. He is an advisor to a number of software companies and has two non-executive roles which he will continue to hold where there is no conflict of interest.

‘I knew we needed to bring in someone who has seen acquisition and turnaround before and I believe that John is perfectly placed to do this,’ commented Peter Bradley, managing director of Bradley Group. ‘We have great plans for the group and more specifically Nicholson Bass where we anticipate investment and significant growth over the next couple of years.’

‘I am extremely excited to join this dynamic and growing organisation,’ said Mr Charnock. ‘I have enjoyed working with Peter for the last couple of years and after his acquisition of N&B I felt that getting more involved with a group of companies that are growing and can utilise my experience and approach was a great opportunity.’
