Steve Cram, CBE
Following last year’s sporting performance by ex-England footballer Matt Le Tissier, Digital Printer is proud to announce that the 2017 Awards ceremony will be hosted by Steve Cram.
Along with fellow Britons Sebastian Coe and Steve Ovett, Steve Cram was one of the world’s dominant middle distance runners during the 1980s. One commentator likened it to “watching a Greek god on the track” when Cram beat Ovett’s 1500m and Coe’s World mile records in 1985. For five seasons between 1982 and 1986, he enjoyed a dazzling spell of competitive success, winning a world, two European and three Commonwealth Golds, and in 1984 he won silver behind Coe in the Los Angeles Olympics 1500m final.
Steve retired from athletics in 1994 and remains the UK record holder over the mile and 2000m. He is now the main athletics presenter on BBC Grandstand and does a great deal of after dinner and motivational speaking.
The Digital Printer Awards 2017 takes place on Thursday 9 November at the Marriott London, Grosvenor Square, W1K 6JP.
The list of nominees will be published in the October issue of Digital Printer.
