HP Indigo 12000 digital press

Shutterfly’s second wave of Indigo 12000 installations gives HP its largest customer deal to date.

A year after acquiring 25 Indigo 12000 digital presses, online retailer and manufacturer of personalised products and services Shutterfly has announced a five-year deal with HP. Shutterfly’s decision to replace existing  presses from another vendor and make HP Indigo its preferred digital press provider marks the biggest-ever competitive win for HP.

The new presses will be used to produce personalised products and gifts including photobooks, calendars, custom stationery, cards and keepsakes. The machines will be installed in time to help Shutterfly manage the annual boom of photo-based gift giving for the holiday season.

‘After our successful HP press installs last year, we’re delighted to complete the second phase of upgrading our printing fleet,’ said Dwayne Black, senior vice-presiden and chief operating officer at Shutterfly. ‘Through this initiative we’re further raising the quality we deliver to customers in time for the holidays this year.’

Shutterfly will also use HP’s PrintOS workflow and management capabilities across its full HP Indigo fleet.
