Large format manager Carl Jackson with ProCo’s Agfa Jeti Tauro

As part of a £400,000 investment in large format capability to support retail marketing operations and commercial print delivery, ProCo has installed the UK’s first Agfa Jeti Tauro H2500 LED.

The company expects to benefit from the Tauro’s ability to use primer to aid ink adhesion and its night and day multilayer print option. ‘Being the first to install the LED Tauro is really exciting,’ said ProCo’s large format manager Carl Jackson. ‘The new capabilities it will give us mean that we can offer our customers an even stronger mix of services coupled with quicker production speeds.’

The spend at the Sheffield and Stansted-based company also includes an Agfa Anapurna RTR3200i, which will allow for unattended production to maximise efficiency and capacity by using multiple rolls simultaneously; a Crest BSC3200 X-Y cutting system, Cronos Ultimate sewing station and a Bobis roller application table.

The full investment is part of ProCo’s strategy to build its large format capability in order to support its retail marketing operations and strengthen its general commercial print delivery.

‘Having worked with ProCo for almost 20 years, we’re thrilled that they’ve received the first UK install of the Tauro,’ commented Bobby Grauf, inkjet sales manager UK & Ireland at Agfa. ‘It’s a huge milestone in our partnership.’

Sourced and commissioned through Atech to complement the Agfa, the Crest BSC3200 cutting system will allow off-roll straight trim jobs to be finished more quickly, leaving ProCo’s Elitron CAD cutter to handle more complex cut-to-shape work. The Cronos sewing station increases ProCo’s capacity in fabric applications, in particular to offer silicone-edged stretch frame graphics in-house. The Bobis table will increase efficiency when it comes to mounting vinyl and laminates to rigid substrates.

‘At ProCo it’s all about our customers, commented Jon Bailey, CEO. ‘We’re always looking to develop ourselves and our offering to ensure we meet client demands and the investment we’re making in our large format department is helping us to do exactly that.’
