Onyx Hub gives an at-a-glance view of productivity and wastage in wide-format print sites
Onyx Graphics has announced the immediate availability of Onyx Hub, the dashboard-based business intelligence tool previewed at Fespa in May.
The new software, described in our Fespa show report, is designed to give wide-format print users real-time and historic data plus trend analysis to help them make better-informed decisions.
Part of Onyx’s SiteSolutions portfolio, Hub is licensed through any Onyx Thrive workflow software key and collects data by job, station and printer. This can be presented and interrogated to track ink usage and material wastage so that users can better understand their costs, improve profitability and detect and diagnoses areas that need improvement, whether technical or operational.
Speaking to Digital Printer at Fespa, Brian Mainwaring, director product development, explained, ‘The ink and media waste per month can be more than the cost of the printer. [With Hub] we can drill down via the machine or job data to question where the errors occur. We can also optimise colour and ink settings – the defaults are possibly not the best.’
