A dedicated employee at Antalis has completed a 320-mile charity cycle ride to raise £2500 for Leicester Animal Aid.
On 9 June, Paul Underwood, a long-standing driver at Antalis, along with two other keen cyclists from associated businesses, set off from the Hilltop at Antalis UK headquarters in Coalville. The trio then spent the next five days pedalling an average of 60 miles a day, passing through Brighton, Reading and the French coast to reach their end destination of Antalis’ BrainsStore in Paris.
The team aimed to raise £2000 for local animal charity, Leicester Animal Aid, a rescue and rehome centre for cats and dogs in the region, but thanks to the support of friends, family and a generous donation from Antalis, an impressive £2500 was raised.
Talking about the challenge, Mr Underwood said: ‘I would like to thank everyone who has sponsored us, including Antalis for a very generous donation of £500. Although it was a huge challenge, we had a fantastic few days and are thrilled to have been able to raise a significant amount.
‘At Antalis, we are a business deeply invested in the local communities where we operate and feel very passionate about giving back. The money raised will go a long way to helping this important local charity provide much needed care for lots of animals while they are waiting to be rehomed.’
