Coventry University’s new postgraduate facility for transport industries and designers has installed Roland machinery and will also become a new location for the Roland DG Academy.

The National Transport Design Centre (NTDC), Coventry University’s new postgraduate facility, features DGSHAPE by Roland machinery as part of the technology for engineers and designers to produce accurate scale models. Roland’s additive and subtractive 3D technology will be used for the design process of large-scale projects for the automotive, rail, marine and aerospace sectors.

In addition, the new space will also become a new location for the Roland DG Academy, providing wider coverage across the UK, and offering more businesses the chance to attend the company’s courses.

‘Our partnership with Coventry University is a great opportunity for Roland DG,’ said Joe Wigzell, academy and creative centre manager at Roland DG. ‘We get a fantastic new space to run our future courses, providing us with a new location for the convenience of our customers. And of course, seeing our machinery used in such a state-of-the-art facility to develop impressive products is a testament to the technology.’
