The inaugural Apprenticeship Awards held by Newham College in Docklands on 10 March saw 16 awards given out, with four taken home by Park Communications.

The awards recognise outstanding achievements of the employers and apprentices enrolled on the apprenticeship programme.

‘We really wanted to say well done to the investment the businesses have put into their apprentices, which we hope will improve the productivity of their organisations,’ explained Neil Coates, organiser and director of apprenticeships.

Awards were given out over a range of categories including areas such as Accounting, Business and Administration, Engineering, Fashion & Textiles. Park employee, Charlie Pennington, won Business Administration & Customer Service Apprentice of the year 2017 and the top individual accolade, Newham College Apprentice of the year 2017.

Park’s support to the programme was recognised with the top business accolade, with Newham College Grand Apprenticeship of The Year 2017, and Business Administration & Customer Service Apprentice Employer of the year 2017.

‘Park Communications really invests in apprentice training, bringing in new roles for apprenticeship opportunities,’ said Newham College. ‘They started with one apprentice on their reception and have grown their offer, providing opportunities for people to progress through the levels with them and into real employment opportunities.’

‘Huge congratulations to Charlie, he has worked very hard and is a key member of the team,’ commented Alison Branch, managing director of Park Communications. ‘The management team have also worked hard to ensure that the apprenticeship scheme works well. We are delighted to receive this recognition of their hard work.’
