Lancashire trade supplier, Birtwell & Co, has switched to Heidelberg digital technology.

Birtwell & Co has just taken delivery of a Heidelberg Versafire CV digital press which is housed alongside an existing three-year-old Konica machine.

‘The Konica is reaching the end of its life but we have retained it and are training a recently recruited apprentice on it, using our experienced digital operator to run the Versafire CV which is handling the lion’s share of our digital work,’ said Matthew Birtwell, managing director.

‘We chose the Versafire CV because of its fifth colour (we have handled a couple of clear varnish jobs already), the useful 6pp A4 format and the excellent registration in duplex. It is particularly good quality.’

Having had a Fiery RIP for the Konica, the company has elected to run with that familiar set up for the Versafire CV.
