Jonathan Lewis, managing director of Gomer Press
A Versafire CP press from Heidelberg is helping Gomer Press to move to the latest generation digital technology.
The Versafire CP press with Prinect digital front end replaces a five-year-old machine and will be delivered to the book printing and publishing company this month.
‘It was the right time for us to take a new machine which will be faster, even better quality and which has the benefit of the extended sheet feeder for 6pp A4 formats,’ said Jonathan Lewis, managing director.
‘Digital printing has become a more important part of our work, particularly for book covers and jackets,’ added Mr Lewis. ‘Having the digital front end will mean we can have seamless workflows, taking in files and outputting to plate, proofer or digital press with equal ease.’
The company already uses extensive Prinect workflows including Prepress Manager and Pressroom Manager.
