Martyn Young, managing director at Precision Printing North died in a fatal accident involving a forklift truck at the Sunderland facility on 17 February.
No other member of staff was involved and Mr Young, 37, sadly died as result of his injuries, despite the rapid actions of colleagues and the emergency services.
The Police and HSE were informed and investigations are on-going.
‘Our immediate focus is to provide what support we can to his family, friends and colleagues and to look after the welfare of the team at the Sunderland facility’, said Gary Peeling, CEO. ‘Martyn’s death has been a shock to all who knew him.’
Mr Young, along with his wife and business partner Donna founded First2Print in 2009. He moved into ecommerce with YourWalls.com and WhereTheTradeBuys.co.uk, and joined Precision Printing three years ago.
‘In 2014 Martyn picked up the phone and I gained a brilliant new business partner. In 2017 I lost a brother. I think that says it all…’ said Mr Peeling.
A service is being held at 2.15pm on 2 March at St. Cuthbert’s Church, North Road, Durham.
