The new Ricoh Pro VC40000 is a next generation continuous feed inkjet platform designed for use by transactional and direct mail clients.

Ricoh’s new platform features separate black and colour printhead arrays, and an optional fifth printhead array enables the use of additional fluid choices, such as MICR or security inks. The press operates at speeds up to 120 m/min, making it capable of producing more than 100,000 A4 images per hour. It can support paper from 40-250 gsm.

The VC40000 uses the Ricoh TotalFlow Print Server R600A digital front end (DFE), which has been optimised to make the production direct mail and transactional output easier than before.

Ricoh has also enhanced its software and services offerings to support the launch of the Ricoh Pro VC40000. The Ricoh ProcessDirector provides transactional and direct mail workflow support designed to maximise equipment throughput, help ensure 100% output integrity and qualify for maximum postal discounts.

The Ricoh Pro VC40000 supports a variety of configuration options, including compatibility with a number of different workflow monitoring and management software tools. The platform has been designed with future enhancements and field upgrades in mind.

‘Since our introduction of the InfoPrint 5000, Ricoh continues to revolutionise the high speed, continuous feed inkjet market,’ said Benoit Chatelard, vice president, production printing, Ricoh Europe. ‘The Ricoh Pro VC40000 is the latest demonstration of our commitment to these clients and to helping them further deliver what their customers need.’
