The Vutek 5r, a new 5m wide LED cured UV printer
A new roll fed LED cured platform, the Vutek r series, was the key launch at EFI’s user conference Connect.
The r series is available in 3 m and 5 m wide versions, both offering resolution of up to 1200 dpi with the 5 m offering a maximum throughput of 453 sqm/h. Options designed to increase application range and throughput include inline finishing, white and additional light colour channels. The 5r was shown for the first time on the show floor at Connect, which was held at the Wynn, Las Vegas.
One early customer of the 3r, Israeli firm Campus Digital Imaging, replaced two 2 m wide solvent printers and a sublimation machine with one machine. As a result of the inline finishing it reduced turnaround times from two- to three-days to same- or next-day.
Another wide format product launch from Vutek was a new 5.2 m wide sublimation machine, the FabriVu 520, which joins the 1.8 and 3.4 m models in the range. Capable of producing up to 446 sqm/h the FabriVu 520 also supports resolutions of up to 2,400 dpi.
In addition to the updates to its wide format line up EFI launched version five of its Productivity Suites, a range of market specific workflows based around its MIS platforms. The five Productivity Suites that have been upgraded include Midmarket, Packaging, Quick Print, Publication and Corrugated.
