Cygnus Outdoor Display board retains the benefits of two side coating and is suitable for outdoor signage for up to 12 weeks
Swanline Paper and Board (SPB), has collaborated with Swedish paper mill Oppboga Bruk to launch a water resistant outdoor display board that does not use a polyethylene coating.
SPB’s Cygnus Outdoor Display has a 100% paper fibre composition (containing up to 60% recycled fibre) that is waterproof and has a high resistance to tearing when in a damp environment. The board is FSC certified and is 100% recyclable. The substrate is suitable for outdoor signage for up to 12 weeks and does not require edge frames to protect the sheet sides from water ingress. Compared to fluted polypropylene, there is no flute shadow whether screen, offset or digitally printed.
‘We are sure that its distinctive credentials will have a significant impact in sectors currently relying on plastic or PE coated alternatives,’ commented Andrew Robinson, managing director of Oppboga, which produces two-side coated boards in Sweden.
‘The partnership between Oppboga and SPB demonstrates our commitment to develop, implement and market eco-friendly alternatives,’ noted Ross Griffin, SPB’s managing director.
Cygnus Outdoor Display is now available exclusively in the UK in calipers of 830, 1500 and 2200 microns in bespoke or stock sizes up to 1700 x 3600 mm. Applications in sectors such as construction, horticultural and leisure industries are also being explored.
