Each FIAC bookmark was customised using HP SmartStream Mosaic technology
Unique bookmarks for 10,000 copies of the FIAC International Contemporary Art Fair exhibition catalogue were produced by Arjowiggins Creative Papers using HP’s Indigo presses and SmartStream Mosaic software.
‘The concept was “to immerse into a book”,’ explained Regina Jäger, founder of design agency Jäger & Jäger, which created an A0-sized master artwork, comprising a collection of 40 book-themed primary sheets, focusing on specific subjects such as halftone dots, epic poetry, anatomy of letters or languages.
Produced on an HP Indigo 7800 by Serafí Indústria Gràfica Publicitària, each bookmark was customised using HP SmartStream Mosaic, which generated design variations by randomly transforming the master artwork file – rotating, transposing, interchanging colours and enlarging the design.
Nine different Arjowiggins digital papers and three fold variations were used to further individualise each bookmark.
‘Consumers want the human touch,’ commented Jerome Noyelle, Arjowiggins brand manager, ‘and design customisation through HP Mosaic and HP Indigo delivers that.’
Design magazine Wallpaper* recently completed a similar project using Mosaic, which was produced by FE Burman.
