Lincoln commercial printer Ruddocks has invested in an IFS-supplied Foliant Mercury 530 SF laminator to assure same-day delivery of its digital print products.
The purchase was prompted by a direct mail contract to produce 30-50 short run orders (up to 1000 sheets) every day.
‘The files arrive in the morning and have to be completed by the end of the day or the next morning,’ explained Paul Banton, managing director. ‘Outsourcing was not a possibility […] we needed more automated lamination in house.’
With its automatic feed and ability to handle different weights, the 25 m/min Foliant Mercury 530 SF has already made a difference at the company. ‘It has created a huge reduction in man hours,’ enthused Mr Banton. ‘We used to have someone laminating all day every day now it is just two hours in the morning.’
