The VersaTech2 offers full conveyor automation, including board loading for laser, router or tangential knives
Developed as a UK/US collaboration between Blackman & White and MCTdigital, the new VersaTech2 ‘all in one’ digital cutter has won SGIA’s product of the year for finishing-routers/cutters.
‘We are extremely pleased that the SGIA review committee was able to see the improvements presented by our new VersaTech2,’ said Nikolai Mikkelsen, president of MCT.
The updated cutter was launched at SGIA Las Vegas 2016. It has a strengthened beam and improved rack and pinion drive system allowing it to move at an acceleration of 1.25 g and speeds of 1.98 m/second to process jobs more quickly. The VeraTech2 also has higher precision for intricate detail such as kiss-cutting vinyl.
‘Our grand format cutter workflow now includes additional software for nesting and tiling at the design function as well as an easy to use parametric solution for boxes and POP/POS displays,’ added Alex White, managing director of specialist cutting machine company Blackman & White.
The digital cutter is manufactured at MCT’s factory in Milwaukee, USA and at Blackman & White’s factory in Heybridge, Essex. Engineering and software is jointly developed with both companies available to provide product support.
