The new Canon imagePress C850 will available from October
Two new digital colour presses, the C850 and C750, have been added to Canon’s imagePress range.
‘In just two years we’ve installed over 3000 imagePress C800/C700 presses in EMEA,’ commented Mark Lawn, Canon’s European director, professional print solutions. ‘With these new imagePress models, we’ve enhanced performance and applications capability.’
Canon developed the range in response to requests for more flexible presses. The new machines are claimed to be ‘ideal for customers with typical monthly production volumes of up to 170,000 A4 pages.’
The presses are capable of 85 ppm/75 ppm up to 220 gsm and can print on mixed media up to 300 gsm. They also feature auto-duplex banner printing, 190 lpi screening, semi-automated page registration and additional finishing options. They are the first in the imagePress range to offer integration with version 5.0 of Canon’s Prismasync controller, which includes a remote control mobile application (Android/iOS) that provides status information and notifies the operator when any intervention is needed.
Finishing options have been extended with a new front-edge booklet trimmer, GBC puncher and inline creasing. Other finishing options include hree-knife trimming, perfect binding up to 200 sheets, saddle finishing up to 100 pages, ring binding and square-fold booklet making.
The new Canon imagePress C850/C750 presses will be seen for the first time at GraphExpo 2016 and will available from October 2016.
