Max Derhak received the Macbeth Award for improved colour profile development
Onyx Graphics’ principal scientist Dr. Max Derhak’s work on next-generation colour management technology iccMax has won an award.
The iccMax technology enables auto-ink restrictions, which can lead to more efficient colour profiles and better ink utilisation.
Dr. Derhak, who is co-chair of the International Color Consortium (ICC), was recognised with the Macbeth Award from the Inter-Society Color Council, the principal professional society in the field of colour in the USA. The award is given for outstanding contributions in the field of colour.
Dr. Derhak will present an overview of iccMAX, illustrating the potential impacts on wide format printing, photography, packaging, and fine art reproduction in a lecture ‘Driving the Future of Color’ at SGIA in Las Vegas in September.
