The SmartSlitter is designed for both offset and digital output
The machine will make its UK debut at the Print Show in October.
‘The SmartSlitter is suitable for both offset and digital printed short-run applications that require ultra-quick turnaround times without compromising quality or integrity,’ commented Bryan Godwyn, managing director, IFS (exclusive distributor of Horizon on-demand finishing solutions in the UK and Ireland). ‘The small-footprinted, easy-to-integrate solution can expand job flexibility and add services that enable print operations to immediately generate revenue.’
The machine accepts sheets up to 370 x 670 mm and can deliver finished sheets down to 50 x 50 mm. Perforation, creasing, and slitting can be performed in both horizontal and vertical directions in the same pass. For accordion fold applications or perfect bound books, up and down creasing can also be performed in one pass while skip perforation is available for producing T-perfs and L-perfs with the SMSL-PR optional perforation cassette.
The SmartSlitter is suited to the production of coupons with multiple perforations, direct mail pieces, business cards, card decks, and photo books for perfect binding. It can deliver multiple up greeting cards with or without creasing, table tents, invitations and more with both matrix and rotary creasing.
Also on demonstration at the Birmingham NEC will be Horizon’s BQ-470 EVA four-clamp perfect binder, the HT-30c three-side trimmer, the CRF-362 creaser folder, the StitchLiner 5500 bookletmaker with VAC AC 1000 collator and B2 AFC-566FG folder.
