This HD by Scodix hangtag for Astrid Anderson features a tactile contrast between matte paper and gloss print.

Ten Scodix Ultra Pro presses will be placed in Avery Dennison RBIS facilities around the world, under the terms of a new partnership agreement between the two companies.

The Scodix presses will be used primarily to enhance Avery Dennison customer tags and brand labels and to raise brand awareness.

‘Clothing and footwear manufacturers are constantly seeking new solutions that elevate their brands, especially at point of purchase’, commented Charlie Brown, head of global innovation, Avery Dennison RBIS.

Sense by Scodix produces a 3D embossed effect for graphic tags by applying polymer to the graphic tag in varying heights, resulting in a 3D texture, depth, and raised effects, replacing traditional printing techniques that use plates, molds, chemicals and solvents.

The partnership also includes HD by Scodix, a process that uses a special polymer to produce a selective spot varnish to digitally recreate the effect of traditional analogue flat varnishes. This method gives brands the option to increase the polymer height, a benefit over spot gloss UV. The result offers a marked contrast between matte paper and almost liquid-looking print.
