Jetrix LX5 LED UV printer
Bex Design has installed the first Jetrix LX5 LED UV printer in the UK.
The Calne, Wiltshire-based specialist printer, which produces graphic overlays, membrane switches, product branding, labels, panel prints, promotional stickers and signage opted for the 2.4 x 1.2 m flatbed printer to expand the range of materials that it could print onto. The firm is an existing Jetrix customer, operating one of the Korean firm’s 2513 flatbed printers.
‘We were holding out for the first LED printer from Jetrix, as we have been so impressed with the reliability and adaptability of our current printer, so it was a no-brainer when we heard Jetrix was going to offer an LED UV printer,’ said Ian Board, Bex Design’s managing director. ‘We can print on more diverse materials than before and extend our customer offering even further.’
Launched earlier this year at Fespa Digital, the Jetrix LX5 can print at up to 60 sqm/hr onto materials up to 100 mm thick. It uses Konica Minolta printheads and is available in CMYK, CMYK plus dual white and CMYK, dual white and primer or clear configurations. Benefits of the LED lamp technology include zero start up time, lower power consumption and longer lamp life, which Jetrix claims can reduce total cost of ownership.
