Packaging and POS supplier Swanline Print’s new concept in structural design services permits on-site customer feedback in the company’s relocated design centre.
‘Creative Days’ encompasses a design suite in which customers can work one on one with Swanline’s designers, complemented by breakout rooms that enable customers to continue with their own activities whilst the team work up the latest prototypes. This ‘design-while-you-wait’ approach allows customers to give feedback to initial concepts, which can then be honed until they are satisfied. Swanline is also relocating its design centre to a dedicated location within its Stone, Staffordshire offices.
The new facility provides additional capacity to develop more elaborate projects. Swanline’s 100% trade customers can leave with a fully functional prototype, costed and production ready. The company can also supply digitally printed mock ups or 3D visuals – which can be sent out electronically to stakeholders at other locations.
Linsey Brookes, creative manager, explains, ‘The relocation of the design centre and launch of Creative Days is all part of Swanline’s vision to highlight our design capabilities as a significant USP for the business, setting us apart from our competitors. The new facility enables us to work very closely with our customers, who say they feel wholly immersed in the process as they see their projects come to life literally before their eyes. Lead times are shorter than ever, and the swift turnaround this process enables can make the difference between a customer winning a project or not.’
