The Matrix Laminator
New additions to Vivid Laminating Technologies’ Matrix range will be launched at drupa, alongside a wide format foiling laminator and a range of special effect foils.
The Matrix Auto-Feeder is aimed at digital and commercial markets to produce short to mid run business cards, menus and book covers, all of which can be finished faster due to prints being loaded ‘on the run’ for non-stop operation.
Also adding to the high speed process is the Matrix Laminator, a new high speed model, which allows larger volume runs to be laminated faster and saves on production costs by finishing in-house. The system runs at up to 20 m/min and will be fully compatible with the new Auto-Feeder.
The company’s new Boss Premium Foil range allows metallised effects to be added to prints. The foiling and overprintable coloured foils work by combining the Matrix and a digital printer. Detailed, quality foiling prints can be created in-house, without expensive set-up charges and traditional block foiling.
The Easymount Air will also see a new model launched at drupa. The machine features independent pneumatic rollers, allowing it to foil and add spot UV style effects to wide format prints, foam boards, glass and MDF.
Metallised effects open up new markets for wide format printers. These can be overprinted onto UV or solvent-based prints. Customers working in the point-of-sale, packaging and decorative markets will benefit by saving money when they create a large format product.
