Ricoh’s Europe production print vice president, Benoit Chatelard

Ricoh will launch seven products with a focus on workflow tools at drupa 2016. Included in the workflow products is a cloud-based implementation of its TotalFlow workflow.

‘We have to embrace the cloud to eliminate the barriers to IT implementation for our customers,’ said Ricoh Europe production print vice president, Benoit Chatelard. ‘The system will be fully hosted in Europe, which is very important.’

Other workflow developments include extending the third party integration of its TotalFlow print server beyond Heidelberg Prinect to Kodak Prinergy and Agfa Apogee.

Hardware developments include the launch of a long sheet feeder for the Pro C9100 cut sheet colour press and the integration of that press with the Watkiss PowerSquare finishing unit. The firm revealed it had recently sold the 200th C9100, which now placed it as a leader in the production sector of the cut sheet toner market. Mr Chatelard attributed the success to printers’ desire to replace older and more expensive platforms.

It also revealed enhancements for its flagship inkjet machine the Pro VC 60000, including a 25% speed boost to 150 metres per minute, support for longer images up to 54 inches long and enhanced custom colour management.
