EFI has launched a website to help its customers to promote their capabilities and for creatives and brands to find new promotional concepts and suppliers.

CEO Guy Gecht announced the website www.imagingofthings.com at the firm’s user conference Connect 16 in Las Vegas.

‘Inkjet is an enabling force for new applications thanks to its material flexibility but it can be hard to scale those ideas,’ said Mr Gecht. ‘The goal is to help our customers find buyers online.’

The idea arose from requests by EFI customers for help promoting their services and print buyers asking for printers who could produce their ideas.

Mr Gecht cited examples in his keynote address opening the conference on Tuesday 19 January, including an architect looking for a firm that could print onto kitchen cabinets, and a French customer that wanted help launching its printed office furniture in South America.

‘It was difficult to recommend a supplier to the architect because we don’t want to favour one customer over any others,’ he said.

The site, which is free to register for, is open to any EFI customer to show examples of applications in which they specialise.

On the morning following the launch of the site EFI claimed an additional 30 customers had signed up to use the site.
